The fine print, kept plain

Privacy Policy

802 Boards is a small Vermont business, not an ad-tech company. This page explains what we collect, what we do with it, and how to reach us. It is still being written — the headings are final and the notes under each will be replaced with the full policy.

What we collect

To be filled in — list the information the site takes in today: the Contact Us form (your name, business name, email, phone and message), the details an advertiser types when signing for a spot, and the payment record Stripe keeps for a purchase. Say whether anything is tracked automatically, and for how long anything is kept.

How we use it

To be filled in — state the purposes plainly — answering your message, preparing and placing your ad, taking payment, sending a receipt and the renewal reminders a month and a week before your year ends, and keeping records for the business. Confirm it is not sold or shared for other companies’ advertising.

Who else sees it

To be filled in — name the services that help the site run — Stripe for card payments, the hosting and email services — and what each one receives.

Your choices

To be filled in — explain how someone asks for a copy of what we hold, asks for it to be corrected or deleted, and opts out of renewal reminder emails, plus how long a request takes.

Contact

To be filled in — say how to reach the business about privacy — the Contact Us form below is the route today — and name the person responsible, plus the business address and registration number if you want them listed.

This policy is a draft in progress. Until it is finished, treat the notes above as descriptions of what the site does, not as legal terms.
