Local advertising, locally placed
Local businesses reach thousands of local customers on community boards inside the area's busiest spots.
Six local businesses per board. A full year of exposure for $600.

A sample 802 Boards community board — six local businesses, one busy location.
Browse the boards to find the board and business where you agreed to advertise.
Pay for your spot for a full year at one flat price. No bidding. No monthly bills.
We print and place your ad on the board, in front of customers already walking in. Then it stays there all year — a daily reminder, not a scroll they skip past.
Your customers already walk past your counter. A board turns that traffic into something useful for them — and something that costs you nothing.
I handle the printing, the ads (also approved by the advertisers and host), renewals and outreach. You just keep doing what you already do.

A community board is a clean dry-erase board, about the size of a poster, that lives inside a busy local business. Six local businesses get one spot each. I place boards in high-traffic Vermont locations — restaurants, cafes, and shops where people already show up week after week. Every board I have up and coming shows on the Boards page and on the Map.
One flat $600 for a full year. You get one of the six spots on a board, your ad designed and printed by me, and a year of daily exposure to that location's regulars. No monthly bill, no per-click charges, nothing added on later.
Your ad is 7.5" × 5" on a 24" × 36" board — roughly the size of a postcard, sitting in a neat grid alongside five other local businesses.
Yes, always. I design your ad and send it to you first. Nothing gets printed or placed until you say yes, and nothing changes after that without your sign-off.
The day the board is physically installed with your ad on it — not the day you pay. If a board is still being built or installed, your spot shows as sold and pending install, and your year hasn't started yet. You're never paying for time you aren't getting.
Then I find your ad a new home. I'll move it to a comparable board at no extra cost so you still get the rest of your year. If there's no board that fits, I'll prorate a refund for the time left. Either way, you're taken care of.
I email you a month before your year ends, and again a week before, with a simple link to renew. There's no auto-charge and no surprise — you only renew if you want to. If you do, your new year picks up right where the old one ended and your ad stays exactly where it is.

Hi, I'm Janeen — the person behind 802 Boards. I'm a New Haven, Vermont resident, and after serving my country in the US Peace Corps, volunteering in my communities for over 25 years, and living in 8 different states, I couldn't be happier to finally settle down in beautiful, community-based Vermont.
I started this business because I kept watching great local businesses get drowned out by big-brand advertising they can't afford or compete with. Community boards fix that: for a fraction of the cost, your business gets seen all year round by the locals who actually walk through your neighbors' doors.
I run every part of this personally, through my registered LLC, Vermont Discovery Co LLC. I choose the host location, find local advertisers who support that host, and design your ad — approved only by you. And when you have a question, you email me. Not a robot, not a call center. Me.
It's a female-run, local Vermont business supporting other small Vermont businesses, and I take real pride in helping our small businesses get noticed.
Got a high-traffic spot that'd be perfect for a board — or want your ad on a business you already support? Send me a message anytime.
